Sonamarg In Winter Season
Sonamarg bermaksud 'Meadow of Gold'.
Musim Winter di Kashmir akan berlanjutan selama 5 bulan iaitu dari bulan November hinggalah ke bulan Mac dan pada bulan Disember-January lah salji turun dengan tebal dan lebat sekali hingga kan jalan ke Sonamarg terpaksa di tutup. Kenderaan hanya boleh sampai ke kawasan Gagangir sahaja. Seterusnya boleh lah menunggang kuda di situ dan jika jalan masuk ke Sonamarg telah dibuka, bolehlah drive private transport tu masuk hingga sampai ke Sonamarg.

Di Sonamarg juga mempunyai aktiviti seperti di Gulmarg, iaitu horse ride, ski dan sledge.

Sonamarg is an alpine valley located in Jammu and Kashmir. Translated, its name means 'Meadow of Gold' and it is rightly called so with the enchanting beauty of flowery meadows, snow-clad peaks, glaciers and pristine lakes.
Sonamarg gives rise to The Three Sisters (Kashmir). In its vicinity lies the great Himalayan glaciers of Kashmir Valley namely Kolhoi Glacier and Machoi Glacier with some peaks of above 5,000 m: Sirbal Peak, Kolhoi Peak, Amarnath Peak and Machoi Peak. Sonamarg is situated in a valley at the bank of Nallah Sindh, 87 km north-east from Srinagar. It is a popular tourist destination, nestled within the imposing Himalayan peaks.
Sonamarg lies at an altitude of 2800 m above sea level. The drive to Sonamarg passes Nallah Sindh, a major tributary of the Jehlum River in the Kashmir valley. It is upwards of sixty miles long valley and deep rock-grit gorge to open grassy meadow land and village-dotted slopes.
